HOUR 5: 3-81 "How Many Solutions?"

REVIEW 3-80 CAREFULLY!

Explain how to find the number of solutions to an equation; Include the answer to...
How do you know when an equation has no solution?
How do you know when an equation has an infinite (look it up) number of solutions?

Type an example of each kind of equation:  See example-
NO SOLUTION:  -2-3k-2+-2k+8-k

  1. When a equation has no solution it doesn't come out for x just somthing like x=x. You know you have an infinite solution when you can plug in anymnumver for x. When it has a solution you get x = ..

  2. A problem has no solution when the variable plus or minus a number equals the same variable. A problem has an infinite solution when the variable equals the same variable.

  3. When you know when it is an infinent is when the two sides are equal(x=x), when it has no solution is when there is no x varriuble, when you know there is a solution there is a number for x

  4. You when an equation has nosolution when you get 0 equals 1. You know when it has a infinite solution when you get 2 equals 2. You know when you have one solution when you get x equals.

  5. You know you have no solution when you have the same number of X's or on both sides but a different number on the other side. It is infinitive when you have X equaling X.

When an equation is infinite when x=x. There is no solution when one side equals x and the other y. One solution is when you can work down to the correct answer.

  7. You know when there no solution because you are left with 2 x's and then another number witch can be on either side
You know when it's infinite when you are left with just to x's on opposite sides

  8. No solution: when simplified equation doesn't match/ CAN NEVER equal eachother.
One solution: when simplied equation is x=y.
Infinte solutions: when simplified equation is same on both sides.

When an equations infinite it is x=x. When an equation has no solution when one side equals x, and when the other side equals y. When it has only one answer when x=one number.

  10. Rachael You know when an equation is infinite when both sides equal x. When it has no solution when one side equals X And when the other side equals Y. When there is one solution that means you can only get one number as X.

  11. It is infinite when both sides equal X. There is no solution when one side equals X and when one the other side equals Y. There is only one answer when X only equals one number.

  12. It is infinitive when the to variables are the same and no awnser when the variables each side equal the same side

  13. I know it an equation is Infinite when I get more than one answer. I know it is one answer when I get one answer. I know it is no solution when I can't find one.

  14. Olivia warden. When the each side of the equation are not equal. when you cannot simplify x anymore and you can replace it with anything to make it equal.

  15. Cheyenne Steffes. You know when you don't have a solution when you solve an equation and your answer is x=x. Also you know when you have an equation that is infinite because there is a #x=#x.

  16. If you simplify then find how many x's thare are you can find the answer.

  17. How many solutions 11/5/10
No solutions is when equation ends in a variable or number that's not equal. Infinite solution is when it ends in the same thing. Jon

  18. Casi-You know when there isn't a solution when the simplified equation doesn't match. You cantell when an equation has one solutio when you do the problem and no other number fits in the variable. You know when the equation has an infinite solution when you can put any # in the variable.

  19. You can know when it s no solution when you an do no more do the problem and you don't have just one number equaling x. When it is infinant x equals x and you can put any number in for x because it doesn't have to equal anything specific

When an equation has no solution, you have 0=x. When there is one solution, there is only one answer. And when there is an infinite solution, you have x=x.

  22. You can tell when it is infinite when x equals x. Also you can know there is no solution when the variables on each side equal each other and the numbers don't

  23. By:Trevor schmit You know when you have no solution because the solution is irrational. You can also know when you have an infinite solution' when x equals x. You can tell when an equation has one solution because x equals a number.
