2-85 Learning Log

Explain when you can solve for x in an equation and when you cannot. Type one example from 2-76, 2-82, or 2-84 that could not be solved.

  7. Solving for X: you can not sovle for X when the variables can not be found the Seder to, like if y equal the same thing. You can solve it when the variables are different.

  8. You can solve for x in an equation when there are both different numbers in the equation which allows it to be divided to find the answer. 2-84 b could not be solved.

  11. You cannot solve for a variable in an equation when it is a variable= same variable+ a number. For example you would not be able to solve x=x+10 from 2-84 b. If a variable equals the same variable then both sides are equal.

    2:82 b) y+4=y

    X can be solved when there is whatever your taking away from both sides is possible.
    Not possible because you can't subtract y without changing the solution. It will always remain an equation.

  15. 2-82 b is not solvable because the there is no way to third out what y equles... A equation is solvable when there is a way to do the math to both sides

  16. You can solve x when there is not an equal verable (x or y) on the opposite sides of the equation. For example, number 82 part b.( y4=y) You have a y on both sides of the equasion.

    You can solve for x when both of the x's have a different value. You can not solve for When both of the x values are the same.

  18. You can't solve for x when there is not a uneven amount of x's or when there is no a number on the opposite side of the equal sign. One example of an equation you can't solve is 2-82 b

  35. You can't solve it when you have the end result being the same amount of x's as the other side of the equal sign. An example is 2-84b. You can when you have the end result having different amounts of x's on each side of the equal sign. An example is 2-84a

    You can't figure this one out because there's a veriable (x,y) on both sides of the equation.

    You can solve this equation because there is a veriable (x,y) on only one side of the equation.
